KPHI Founding Board member, Cynthia D. Lamberth services as the Co-Executive Director of the Kentucky Population Health Institute. Prior to leading the KPHI full-time, Cynthia served as Associate Dean for Workforce Development and Community Engagement at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. She is also Director of the Kentucky Population Health Leadership Institute and previously served as Co-Director of the National Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute and Buckeye Bluegrass Regional Leadership Academy. She is currently on the Board of the Public Health Leadership Society and NNPHI Planning Workgroup. She is past Chair of the National Public Health Leadership Development Network. Lamberth has over thirty years of experience in the Public Health and Human Resource fields including positions in academia, consulting, high tech, and utility industries.
KPHI Board Chair, Janie Cambron serves as the Associate Dean for Practice and Workforce Development and has worked within local and state public health agencies for over 17 years.
Prior to her appointment at UK, Janie served as the Quality Improvement Coordinator in the Commissioner’s Office at the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH). During her 11 years at KDPH, she had previous roles spanning program management, epidemiology, performance improvement, environmental health, strategic planning, and accreditation.
Before joining KDPH, she was the Senior Regional Epidemiologist for the Green River District Health Department for four years. She began her career in public health in 2004 as a Health Environmentalist at the Barren River District Health Department and later, the Green River District Health Department. Janie still retains her Registered Sanitarian (RS) license.
In March 2020, Janie was one of eight national scholars accepted into the Bloomberg Fellowship DrPH program at Johns Hopkins University, School of Public Health. Janie has a Master of Public Health (Environmental concentration) and a Bachelor of Science (double major Biology and Agriculture) from Western Kentucky University.
She was a Kentucky Public Health Leadership Institute Scholar, mentor, and faculty. Janie was named the 2008 Young Careerist for both the Northwest Region and Local Owensboro Region from the Organization of Business and Professional Women.
Janie has a core value of service. She has held many leadership positions within the Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA), including Past President, and currently serves as the Workforce Development Committee co-chair. She is also a member of the KPHA advocacy, legislative, communications, and student engagement committees.
Janie is involved in initiatives through the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), and the National Public Health Learning Network. She is also a current member of the Region IV Public Health Training Center steering committee.
Due to her diversified public health experience, her professional interests are varied and include leadership development, change management, children’s environmental health, workforce capacity, social determinants of health, local public health, disease investigation, student engagement, community partnerships, emergency response, and quality improvement.
Founding KPHI Board member, Dr. Heise serves as the Co-Executive Director of the Kentucky Population Health Institute. Dr. Heise is the Director of the Three Rivers District Health Department which serves a population of 50,000 in the rural Kentucky counties of Carroll, Gallatin, Owen, and Pendleton. Three Rivers was in the first cohort to receive accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board in February 2013, one of eleven health departments across the United States. Dr. Heise served as The National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) Vice-President and President and is currently continuing service on the Board. She is also on the Board for the Kentucky Public Health Association and the Executive Committee for the Kentucky Health Department Association. She is passionate about advancing public health in the areas of accreditation and policy development. Georgia earned her Doctorate of Public Health from the University of Kentucky.
Regina is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Business Management. She previously worked as the first business manager with the Center for Health Services Research and the College of Public Health at the University of Kentucky. There she worked with the director and researchers involving all state and grant-funded dollars. In her spare time, she volunteers for the Lafayette Band where she has served on the board of directors for three years and is currently managing the uniforms for all two hundred band members. She also loves to be outdoors and traveling with her husband and two daughters.
Tyler is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) with a B.S. in Environmental Health Science. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health at EKU. During his undergraduate program, Tyler was the President of EKU's Student Environmental Health Association (SEHA) for three years. He also assisted with recruitment events and ambassador work for the College of Health Sciences at EKU. When he is not working he likes to go hiking and camping with his friends and family.
